FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a feral cat?
A feral cat is a cat who is not socialized to humans, either because they have never had human contact or because their contact with people has diminished over time. Feral cats survive on their own outdoors. Most are not likely to ever enjoy life as a house pet. What is TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Return is the humane, effective approach for feral cats. Feral cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped (the universal symbol of a neutered and vaccinated cat), and then returned to their outdoor home. Socialized cats and kittens are adopted into homes. The colony’s population stabilizes—no more kittens! Trap-Neuter-Return improves the cats’ lives and their relations with the community.Learn more about feral cats and TNR at Alley Cat Allies. How do I request help with stray or feral cats?
If you are a caregiver for stray/feral cats, or otherwise know of stray/feral cats in need of assistance, you can contact us via our contact form, by messaging us on our Facebook page, or by emailing [email protected]How can I help?
Operation Press Paws is a 100% volunteer grassroots organization with no funding other than your donations. It costs approximately $85-$110 to TNR one feral cat. Cats in need of additional vet care cost much more. Please donate today to help us help homeless cats by clicking here.
Operation Press Paws is also in need of volunteers to set traps, drop off/pick up cats at the vet, and foster cats and kittens. You can volunteer one time or as a regular commitment -- it’s up to you! Please fill out our volunteer sign-up sheet so that we can contact you about volunteer opportunities that match your availability. How can I adopt a cat or kitten?
So, you’re ready to add a furry family member. Great! Operation Press Paws adopts socialized cats and kittens to forever homes as they are rescued and vetted. See our adoption section for updated information about adoptable cats. Our adoption process requires an approved application and payment of an adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $60 for a single cat, $100 for a pair. This fee helps pay for the medical care and foster costs of our cats. We adopt cats as indoor pets only. When adopting young kittens, we strongly recommend adopting in pairs, as kittens with a playmate tend to thrive better and become happier, more well-adjusted adult cats. We do NOT under any circumstances allow declawing of cats or kittens adopted from our organization. For more information, please contact us.

BIRDIE
Male / 6 y.o. / Black DSH
No kids, no other cats
Chirp chirp, my name is Birdie! I am an 8 years young male cat who had a very hard life before coming to rescue. No one knows how I ended up outside, but it was very scary. I even got hit by a car! I'm a survivor, though-- I healed up all on my own! After I got better, I found my way to the parking lot of an apartment complex. Everyone thought I was feral because I wouldn't let anyone get close to me. Eventually, a nice volunteer trapped me to get me neutered. As soon as she brought the trap inside the house, I was so excited! I started purring and rolling around inside the trap to thank her for taking me in. That's how she knew I wasn't feral after all. She let me out, and I crawled into her lap. I was finally safe! That was the start of my new life in rescue. I am healthy and happy now and I'm ready for adoption! I got my name because I couldn't meow when I was first rescued. All I could do was squeak like a baby bird. I learned, though -- now I'm a chatty guy who will carry on a conversation with you. I do have a dust mite allergy that makes me itchy and I cough sometimes. I may need to start using an inhaler soon. If so, Operation Press Paws will cover the cost for my forever family if needed. I'm a really good boy when it comes to taking medication. I don't like other kitties, so I need to be your one and only cat.I need a fantastic forever home that will really love me and my quirks. I promise, it isn't hard, I'm a real sweetheart! If you can accept me the way I am, we can focus on my two favorite things: giving kisses and playing with lots of toys! I'm very affectionate, chatty, and will play like a kitten. I am litterbox trained, neutered, combo-tested, and vaccinated. If you think you might be the home for me, please apply to adopt me today!
CLARENCE
Male / Kitten / Black & white DSH
Hi, my name is Clarence! I'm named after the angel in the classic Christmas movie It's a Wonderful Life. I’m an 11-week-old tuxedo kitten who is looking for a forever home.Let's start with the obvious... I'm EXTREMELY cute! My sweet black chin patch and little white mustache are irresistible, not to mention my grand whiskers and my dainty socks. There is seriously nothing sweeter than my little face! I also have really soft, ultra plush fur.My siblings and I were rescued when our mom was spayed and released so she wouldn’t have any more homeless babies. We were pretty scared at first, but quickly realized that being cozy inside with a full belly is the best! I am still a little shy, but I have so much love to give. I love snuggling with my brothers most of all, but I'm learning to love snuggling with humans too. When somebody pets me, I melt into a ball of purrs! I have a heart of gold and I just need a little patience to blossom. That might be just what you need to make your home complete for the holidays!I will come to my new home vaccinated, combo tested, and dewormed. Operation Press Paws will pay for my neuter and rabies vaccine when I am 16 weeks old. I always use the litterbox like a good kitty. Ask Operation Press Paws about adopting me today!
